PACKAGING DESIGN

The shelf is abattlefield. We win it.

Packaging is your product’s most-seen ad and your most under-priced sales channel. We design packaging that stops the scroll, owns the shelf and converts on first glance.

QUICK ANSWER

Packaging design is the discipline of designing how a product looks, holds and behaves on the shelf and in the hand. Pivot Studio designs primary, secondary and tertiary packaging for Gulf and MENA brands across F&B, beauty, cosmetics and lifestyle — including structural design, labels, dielines, photorealistic 3D mockups and full print-ready production files.

Why it matters

Packaging is the most-seen ad in your business

Every shopper, every shelf, every Instagram reel. No other asset is seen as often or trusted as much, and yet most brands invest five times more in a single ad campaign than in the packaging it sells.

The shelf decides in 0.4 seconds

Eye-tracking studies put first packaging-glance at under half a second. Packaging that does not communicate category, hierarchy and benefit in that window loses the sale before the brand does.

Bad packaging punishes operations

Cheap structural design generates returns, breakages and customer complaints. Good packaging compresses cost across the supply chain and protects margin.

Our process

01

Brief & shelf audit

Category audit, shelf photos from real stores, retailer requirements, technical constraints (materials, fill machines, shipping).

02

Structural concepts

Sketches and 3D rough mockups for primary container/box. Material and finish exploration.

03

Surface design

Two label or surface design directions presented in shelf context, both physical-print and digital-feed contexts.

04

Refine & range

Selected direction extended across SKUs, sizes and variants with clear shelf hierarchy logic.

05

3D mockups

Photorealistic 3D renders for marketing, listings and investor decks before you print a single unit.

06

Print production

Dielines, color profiles, embossing/foiling specs, prepress checks and printer liaison.

Deliverables

  • Structural design files (CAD/dielines)
  • Label and surface design across SKUs
  • Print-ready production files (PDF/X, separations, profiles)
  • Photorealistic 3D mockups (web, print, e-commerce)
  • Photography brief and art direction
  • Packaging guidelines (hierarchy, copy, do/don’t)

FAQs — Packaging Design

Can you design just the label, or only full packaging?

Both. Label-only projects are common; full structural + label programs are where we add the most value.

Do you handle the structural design (the box itself)?

Yes. We design or adapt structural packaging in coordination with your printer or converter.

Can you produce 3D mockups before printing?

Yes. Every project includes photorealistic 3D mockups so you can validate the design with stakeholders, retailers and investors before tooling up.

Will my packaging meet retailer requirements (e.g., Carrefour, Lulu, Spinneys)?

We design with major Gulf retailers’ shelf and barcode standards in mind and pre-flight your files accordingly.

Do you handle bilingual Arabic-English packaging?

Yes. Bilingual is standard for the Gulf. We design hierarchy that respects both scripts equally.

Can you manage the printer for us?

Yes. We can handle vendor selection, quoting, proofing and press checks if you would prefer a single point of accountability.

Are you sustainability-aware?

Yes. We work with FSC-certified, recyclable and mono-material substrates whenever the brand allows, and design for material efficiency.

How long does packaging design take per SKU?

A first SKU typically takes 6–8 weeks. Adjacent SKUs in the same range are 2–3 weeks each thanks to systemized design.

Do you also do the photography?

We art-direct it and provide briefs, prop lists and angles. We can also bring in a photographer from our regional network.

Can you redesign packaging without losing brand recognition?

Yes. This is a core competency. We map equity (color, pack architecture, name placement) before changing anything.
